This year, app workers across the country showed what’s possible when we organize together. From coast to coast, we fought for (and won!) groundbreaking protections, wage increases, and unionization rights.
Here are a few of the year’s biggest highlights:
California drivers win the right to unionize
In October, California rideshare drivers won the right to form a union and collectively bargain for better working conditions. With over 800,000 drivers in the state, this is a huge breakthrough for our movement in the fight for better pay, fair treatment, and a seat at the table. App workers in other states are taking notice and taking action!
New York wins a raise and lockout protections
After months of organizing, app workers in New York City won a 5% pay raise and long-overdue lockout protections from the Taxi & Limousine Commission. These regulations stop app companies from locking drivers out of the apps and robbing them of their ability to work and earn income.
We’re drawing the line on driverless cars
In 2025, autonomous vehicles are no longer a far-fetched tech experiment. They’re spreading fast in major cities across the country, and we’re mobilizing quickly. Robotaxis put our safety and our jobs at risk, and we’ve made it clear: no new tech without public input and worker protections. Our petitions have already reached thousands, and we’re just getting started
App workers made history in 2025, and we’re headed into 2026 more united, more organized, and more ready than ever.
