We just got a wage increase for NYC rideshare drivers – share our victory!
Last November, the Justice for App Workers coalition won a raise for NYC rideshare drivers, but it was later blocked by Uber based on a legal technicality. Since then, we have fought to make sure that New York City app drivers get the wage increase that we deserve.
We made our voices heard at the New York Taxi and Limousine Commission hearing last week, and today, they approved an 8.78% RAISE for rideshare drivers! The increase will go into effect on March 13, and it includes a new utilization rate to prevent lockouts.
We are proud of what we’ve achieved – we won a raise that will allow tens of thousands of hard-working drivers to do our jobs without constantly worrying about paying the bills. We stood tall in the face of Uber’s cheap tactics, and showed them that together, we can – and will – transform the app work industry.
In 2023, we’re going to create a better future for app workers across the country. When we fight, we win!
