THANK YOU FOR COMING TO THE JUSTICE FOR APP WORKERS GENERAL MEETING!

At the first Justice for App Workers Virtual General Meeting on September 28, dozens of workers gathered as our coalition recommitted to taking on app companies in 2024. We voted on our campaigns to win fair wages, better safety protections, and fair e-bike regulations for rideshare and delivery workers, and left the meeting with renewed energy. We know that together, we can win the right to a union for all app workers!

We also shared updates on new rules and regulations, as well as our ongoing work on congestion pricing and delivery worker minimum wage:

Update on Delivery Worker Minimum Wage

Two weeks ago, the judge threw out Uber, GrubHub, and DoorDash’s case against the minimum wage for delivery workers. This means that delivery workers were supposed to get the minimum wage we fought for, BUT the app companies appealed the ruling. We’re not backing down – we’re prepared to KEEP FIGHTING and ensure that NYC delivery workers make a living wage!

Update on E-Bike and E-Scooter Regulations

Since Sept 16, NYC has banned the lease, sale, or rental of uncertified e-bikes and e-scooters. If you already have an e-bike or e-scooter, it WILL NOT be taken away. But if you want to buy a new e-bike or e-scooter, make sure it’s legal!

Follow the steps on the flyer to stay safe!

Update on Congestion Pricing

Congestion pricing is coming, and the state is figuring out now precisely who will be taxed and how much. Click here to learn more about what we’ve been fighting for, and what to expect.

JFAW Cares Health Insurance for Delivery Workers

If you’re a delivery worker and your family doesn’t already have free or low-cost health insurance, now’s the time to take advantage of JFAW Cares. JFAW Cares is a no-cost screening and enrollment service that connects you and your family to free or low-cost health insurance – regardless of your immigration status.

One thing is clear: drivers and delivery workers are MORE than ready to take on app companies and fight for what we deserve.
